@Oscar2. You give some very good advice to people M8 shame they don't acknowledge your help. I to find Mozella Firefox the best browser around it is light fast & secure. Does in my opinion much more for the average Joe Blog and simpler than Chrome.

I strongly recommend Brave browser (brave.com) and also Microsoft Edge which are well-developed, secure and fast.

I should disagree with Oscar2 (salut ! ) and Wrapt.
In the past, I had the same problem as twinkletoes has now. With my older laptop, I experienced several forced reboots in a month due to lack of memory while the culprit was Firefox. My system didn't have a lot of RAM (only 4 GB) and when opening more than 13-14 tabs in Firefox, no memory remained available for the system. The reason was (and still is) Firefox sucks at managing memory. While I was an avid fan of philosophy behind (Mozilla) Firefox, one day after another forced reboot, I decided I had enough and removed Firefox completely from my system and installed Google Chrome and it was a great move! On the same system, everyday I opened many tabs in Chrome without any problem. My record was 230 tabs! And that's why I said Firefox absolutely sucks at managing RAM.

So, do yourself a favour twinkletoes and discard Firefox and instead install Brave and Edge. It's recommended to have at least 2 web browsers on a system just like having 2-3 media players is a good practice.
Note that configuring browsers is important to enhance your privacy and prevent them from gathering a lot of data from you. And don't forget to install a few (and not many) important extensions (including uBlock Origin) to make your browsers even better.

@MeH Great read M8. Yeah I have used Firefox for many yrs I even tutor seniors & found Firefox is so simple to explain. BUT each to their own right? I have to admit 2 things I have a good amount of Ram & have never ever had 230 tabs open that does boggle my mind as to why unless you were experimenting lol. Often have many tabs open with no worries & a very important thing to remember is to make sure all programs are up to date. Much good advice has been entered into this Members area & I hope is appreciated by all. Thanks for the feed back M8

@Oscar2... Boy do you sound pissed off! Don't recall previous entries but then I have a brain like a sieve sometimes, so apologies if you felt ignored. As for your tips now, I have print screened them and will take your suggestions on board. Thanks for taking the time to reply! I'll let you know in due course if and when I make changes.
