I have the impression, there might be a lot of rather aggressive caching going on on this site right now. For instance:

- when I'm visiting 'general discussion', the page 1 after login is always sorted 'oldest first', even after switching to 'newest first'. But fetching page 2 I finfd it is respecting that switch of setting, delivering page 2 of 'newest first' as expected.

- since 05/28/24, when I search for generic terms like '1080p', I'm always getting the same search results, no new uploads on the first results page since then. From page 2 on I get to see the newer uploads listed.

While I know caching might be a wild guess after all, but if server resources are of interest, it might be better to optimize the codebase and minimize requests instead of levelling up the caching of certain pages to a point where they become unsatisfactory.

U have the same wave of pop-ups: they're unbearable. But I am a but weary of ad blockers, as I see that my roomate using Brave seems to have things OTHER than ads seem blocked?

(Funny things, the pop-ups on CU appear to have a pattern: what time of day they appear, what shows up where..l I'm so used to them I sort of have my little "finger dance" ready to shut'em down real quick! LOL, internet Far Ouest)

But just to say I sympathize, and would trust anything @Oscar2 has to say. Hope it works fine

Finally, I was able to watch Andor. It's a solid show, much better than most of the movies and shows created in the world of Star Wars. However, I liked The Mandalorian better since its music, storyline and atmosphere was more interesting to me.
Nonetheless, one of the most impressing scenes of all Star Wars shows happens near the end of episode 10 of Andor where Luthen explains what he has sacrificed through the years.
I should note that the way they try to make the Empire similar to the Third Reich (from big concrete structures and buildings to officers' uniforms) seems too obvious and forced! And it's just absurd to have guards watching and monitoring people walking around. While they're at least hundreds of years (if not thousands) ahead of us in science and technology and even can travel faster than light, it's a huge paradox that they can't use surveillance cameras equipped with AI to monitor the city and discover any suspicious person or activity!!!

BTW, the original Subscene (Subscene.com) is sadly gone forever (https://torrentfreak.com/subscenes-demise-is-no-surprise-but-millions-of-app-users-face-disruption-240505/) but fortunately other people have stepped in and are continuing to make great Subscene available to millions of its users again. Such actions have happened before. For an example we can name Nyaa, the largest anime torrent site on internet. After the owner of Nyaa.se voluntarily shut down the website, another team stepped in and made Nyaa.si available to millions of users of the original Nyaa with the same layout and design.

PS Halo is an interesting series to watch.
