To much DEI.

Right from the start, the show introduces a strong female lead - another predictable choice in today's media landscape. She's the typical tough, no-nonsense warrior woman who outmatches everyone around her, which feels like the show trying to hit its "empowered woman" quota. It's clear this is the direction they're going, setting the tone for the show to follow a familiar path of diversity and inclusion boxes being checked.

In the 4th minute of the very first episode - including the intro - we are introduced to the gay Viking. He's just sort of there, not doing much at this point, but it feels like a forced attempt to establish diversity from the get-go. It's as if the show wants you to know, right away, that it's going to make an effort to hit certain representation marks.

Fast forward to the second episode, and after a brief, somewhat gratuitous bisexual sex scene, we realize that this Viking will actually be part of the main group, indicating he'll have a much larger role moving forward. Just as you're trying to process that, the show throws in another curveball: a transgender witch character, who appears out of nowhere with little context.

At this point, I couldn't handle it anymore. What had started with promise - brutal action, a gritty atmosphere, and an intense storyline - quickly became bogged down. It's a shame, because despite the cringe moments and fairly cliche characters, it had the potential to be something great: brutal, action-packed, and raw.

@KC_D It seems you missed the point of the show and focussed on three points that clearly you find offensive. Not a Snyderbro myself so I'm not gonna write here saying how fantastic he is, but I can watch his stuff and enjoy it. To say I enjoyed TWOTG is fair but I chose to watch it as a whole and not a sum of it's parts.

If you find that you can't handle depictions of strong women (historically warrior women were quite normal), if you find you can't handle depictions of male on male relations sexual or otherwise (the character in questions makes a valid quote about this part way through the show) and if you can't handle a witch who appears to be non gender specific (transgender wouldn't be a historically accurate description). If you can't handle those three things amongst a story of mortals and gods and the early days leading up to what I assume would eventually be Ragnarok, then maybe this show wasn't for you.

However anyone who can happily enjoy a show about gods and monsters, shape-shiftng dwarves and talking plant life can probably get past the tough women, bisexual men and non gender specific witch without clutching their pearls too hard and actually enjoy the show.

Aaaaah, time for another dish of "Beastie and the multi-account split troll personality" with its snowflakishly sensual "conformist conspiracy" bs.

Maybe it all (predictably) starts with feeling "educated" and "forced" (er - to what exactly? Physically?) by reality leaping into fiction produced by (always implicit) fantasized antagonistic forces of "them others"?
 
What's also predictable: when things vanish, people start building museums. So why not - instead of posting your own preaching - build yourself an online museum of blissful ignorance past of your own?
 
Your own HDs would be a good start: get a domain, post your well-curated media collection, maybe even add some fine-tuned binary categories according to your liking. Just don't forget a blog to rant in.
 
Why? Because nobody here's in need of "forced education" by trolls stuck in their adolescence during the 60s either.
 
Now I'll retreat again for some more weeks, watching my best buddie BeastieOscar from afar wasting ever more online storage space and bandwidth for his collection of fake accounts, spam posts, slurs and self-pitying.

Sorry to capture your well meant reply. It has kind of an obsessive thing going with me, since I reacted to it in a similar vein, but it got a bit lazy with its fake posts under some fake "CInque ..." and other accounts lately. You'll probably see what I mean, soon.
