So, you're worried about this sites future earnings? are you getting a share of those earnings? you think this site will close because they are now uploading raw vids?

how do all the other sites stay on line and upload raw vids then?

are you really concerned about the future of this site or do you just want things to go your own way for your own selfish reasons?

you don't speak for Admin or for the users of this site. you're no one. nothing.

you're just being selfish and stupid for your own gain. this site will be just fine.

the only place you can get RMTeam encodes is right here and that is what will keep downloaders at this site.

Can anyone help with getting a 'clear ' copy of 'A Place To Call Home'? Episode 9 of series 4 is extremely poor - is very blurred with no definition at all .

Your help would be appreciated.

naked mkvs are slightly smaller than rars, as normal mkv files barely compress at all, and the rars were made with recovery records making them 5% larger.

That's a trivial difference though. If I had a choice, I'd prefer rarred because of the automatic integrity check; as long as they are in a single rar. It's a pain when a large file is divided into several rar archives and you have a host that enforces a wait period and/or a recaptcha for each one. Some hosts do have a max filesize and force you to divide the archives.

Also, because mkvs do not compress, the rar file is actually a small header and then the mkv file as-is. Thus you can play a partially downloaded rar of an MKV using, e.g. MediaPlayer Classic. I do that to check the quality and specs, if there is a subtitle, etc. If it's crap I can abort it after a few MB instead of waiting a couple if hours to find out what I have (I have very slow download speed).

My comment earlier about filenames was about ISPs and downloaders; on that front there is nothing to fear. Torrents are different; because anyone can connect with the peer swarm and list all their IPs, then they track those to your ISP, unless you use a VPN. With the file hosts used here there is no way for them to do that (unless they are the NSA, who know everything that everyone downloads; they don't worry about copyright though). However, naked MKVs on file hosts are more obvious and likely to be taken down. But this site is well known and anyone interested can just monitor it and have all the links listed for them anyway, so probably no practical difference.

-- there is actually a point in registering a name here. If you make comments, you don't have to do the captcha, for one.
Also you can have a filter you can use to select what uploads you see. I use it to block CAMs and TSs, gameshows, reality TV; films in Hindi; 3D. Saves wasting time on stuff I have zero interest in. I don't see 100 shitty cams of every new superhero film.

I had to go back several pages to find a comment by spidapig and a few more pages to find the comment you made he was talking about.

After which I found it was irrelevant anyways.

So many people are attacking each other about this "rar vs. no rar" issue.

It's important to remember the only person you need to attack, err "convince" is Admin.

So far I haven't seen a convincing argument for why RARd uploads are better.

I'm not Admin, but I'm not sure Admin (assuming Admin is willing to listen) is convinced either.

Offer Admin real proof why "naked" uploads are better.
I'd like to see "real proof" myself. Convince me and I bet you convince other users too. But without real proof...?

And don't tell us you have a slow internet. A slow internet is proof only that you need to upgrade to a faster internet. 95% of the "world" has a fast internet assuming they are willing to pay for it. Not being able to pay for fast internet is not proof that RARd uploads is better.

My internet speed is about 45% slower then the average and yet I've never had a corrupt or incomplete download from this site. I know I'm not just super cool or super lucky so this has to be the norm for most users.

Just give some proof. Proof that no one can dispute. Proof that will change not my mind but change Admin's mind.

As i said it depends on the type of video file you compress and yes they are awful to compress
I could take for days about the privacy aspect of everything but i will spare you lol

You make good comments, the tiny size difference is irreverent and my comments here were on the historic aspect of why RARs were used by the scene.
How admin choices to upload load files is his business and at the point in time makes no difference to me how they come, so long as they come

Extratorrents is blocking my IP for "suspicious or spammy activity".

For months they've been trying to get all users to use a VPN which is something I have been using for over a year.

But now that VPN is getting me flagged for "suspicious or spammy activity". Ain't that some Crap?

What's it gonna be next?

I know how to get by this block and torrenting is something I do very rarely only for hard to find items so no big deal really but now another hoop to jump through

RARBG gives a similar warning but I only need to solve a captcha to proove I'm human. I mean really? what's next?

VPN companies can't afford to give a distinct IP address to every user, so I'm betting others who share your IP are doing the "suspicious or spammy activity." Nature of the beast. I'm glad you know a way around the block.

I use the links on this site when i bought my download site so I do support the site. No can get in trouble they just don't have to give me a site. This site doesn't have all the apps like others do. As for your ? no I don't know of other sites to look at. Just because I like to go to other sites doesn't mean I don't like this site. A lot of times the uploaded links or other links are dead or not updated here and are at other places. So it is nice to have a place to go to. So that is why I asked for other sites and still do not because I don't like this site but to have another site when the links are not updated.If someone thinks they will get in trouble telling me a site then they should not tell me a site.I don't think the admin would get that up set if he does then I wont ask I don't think it is that bad like I said I do use the links when I buy my download information.
