Does sidereel show you a list of just the series you watch? I don't want recommendations mixed in with my faves.

Yes, you just click "Track" on whatever show you search for and that show will appear on your tracker page. It works quite well. The only annoying thing is the vids that appear when you search a show. After you have all your shows loaded, you never see the videos again.

that happened to me after I added an ad blocker (noscript?)
anyways, I had to discover which to allow and which to deny and got them back. not using noscript anymore so all is good here now.

so if you just added something like noscript that could be it.

I'm using "JavsScript toggle" and if Javascript is off those clickable links aren't clickable anymore so I have Javascript on for this site.

I have disabled uBlock Origin on this site. It is not that the links are not clickable, they have completely disappeared. I can still highlite the links and Ctl C them into JDownloader though. It was just easier to click the links before.

I am going to try a Jscript toggle addon for chrome to see if that fixes it. Thanks for the info!

It is very relevant that Altered Carbon was adapted from a novel.
As was The Expanse, Game of Thrones for example. Many SF series created from scratch either begin as or quickly turn into comic book crap because TV writers go for the familiar tropes and/or fan-service rather than creating imaginative yet self consistent stories and characters.

It's noticeable in the last season of Game of Thrones, when they went past the written books and started to make up their own story lines. TV producers think SF = no rules, nothing has to make sense; SF authors and readers think the opposite.

You're talking about success only in terms of "making tons of money". Not the qualities I was talking about at all.
Of course it takes more than a good novel to make a good series. But I do think that many of the best SF series are based on books. The first season of Star Trek, for instance, was mostly written by real SF writers, some adapting from published stories. Later, they started using TV writers who knew nothing about SF except what they saw on the screen. So the stories got dumb and stupid.

I don't think being a millennial or younger or older is relevant. It's about whether the story is something worth my time or not. Now I'm older perhaps the major difference in my viewing preferences is that I have less time to waste on crap than when I was a kid.
