I am experiencing a huge slow down also. It's about 90% slower. These are not the PREMIUM speeds that I paid for.

@ rwhite549 yes 90% slow down for me too. When I reported it to RapidRar they replied with an off-the-shelf set if ping and traceroute tests for me to do and send. I'm thinking they've blown through their bandwidth allocation and are throttling everyone.

While I try to avoid posting negative comments, sometimes they're just too well-deserved.
Very basically, within the competitive system of capitalism, market shares can be increased in one of two general ways: Participants can produce better products/services to tempt consumers away from competitors, OR they can try to coerce consumers to buy inferior products/services using various eliminatory tactics.
Clearly, the profiteers at RapidRAR has chosen the latter; they want to force our hands by eliminating further their already-diminutive free options (ironically, at the very moment their service is displaying its own inferiority).
I will never give my money (a vote of support) to any company that opts for such pernicious business methods. Those who do are proclaiming themselves willing to be abused.

I thought I was the only one experiencing this slow down you all are talking about. It comes and goes but it still pisses me off. I run my own speedtests and my connection is fine. I even tried operating off my cell phone hotspot just in case. What has been said is accurate , we pay for our higher speeds. The least they could do is tell us the truth. I could respect that. I suspect it a bandwidth thing. Are all the premium accounts ,openload , nitroflare , etc... are they all suffering this same slowdown ? Not exactly sure how this all works, I'm just glad it isn't just me.

Now Rapidrar doesn't allow free users to download over 200MB files, which is such a low threshold. Most links that are older than a couple month have died and often Rapidrar is the only option. Thus this new file-size limit feels quite significant. Hope rmz could find another less restrictive file host.

The other hosts are working fine. I get 2 Mb speeds from Openload and 1 to 1.5 Mb from ClicknUpload. It's definitely a RapidRAR issue. Like others, I suspect they have exceeded their host's bandwidth limit. I also suspect that's the reason why they've dropped their free file size down to 200 MB - to limit traffic on their site.

major disfunction above says he only uses free hosting sites. He must have a dial up or otherwise I just cant believe he downloads with any kind of speed. I have used uploaded before, but I went with Rapid because I thought they were top dog. Maybe they have too many customers, like we are thinking, they've exceeded their bandwidth. I will wait until my current term expires and will look at this again. Thanks for your input. :-)
