@hevc-fan

The RMTeam account is not an admin. It's a helpful troll. If you want Avengers and Deadpool head over to PSARips.

For video players, I prefer MPC BE, it is an open sourced player based on Media Player Classic Home Cinema: one reviewer said it so succinctly:
blabla-blabla
MPC-BE is an elegant and deceptively simple looking player, having nearly every feature you'd want in a media player. The only thing that is noticeably missing is documentation, but you can find most things out on your own if you dig a little. Options you didn't know of may be hidden in a menu you haven't looked in yet, so be sure to explore it thoroughly. The player doesn't use a lot of computer resources, and basic command line functionality for it exists should you need it. It is also a huge bonus that there are developers actively working on MPC-BE. The comparison with VLC below is not representative, but I watched it for some time with both playing the same 72-hour playlist (of mp3 files); MPC-BE definitively uses less resources on average: MPC-BE x64 | CPU: 0.04% | RAM: 13.49MB | Disk: < 0.1MB/s | VLC media player (x64) | CPU: 0.21% | RAM: 24.72MB | Disk: < 0.1MB/s | I rate this player a rock solid 19/20.
https://sourceforge.net/projects/mpcbe/
I still use Windows 7, but for any Windows setup (specifically many people are upgrading to Windows 10, as their old machines need replacement), I wouldn't use any other codec pack than Shark 007. K-Lite codec pack is documented to cause many problems for Windows operating system, which causes bad registry errors and nearly impossible to clean off an installation without a clean install of Windows. Shark 007 codecs is all I will use:

If you are creating a digital library of files you collect from sites like RapidMovieZ, I use KODI, because the video library downloads metadata, descriptions of each series and episode in your library, TV or Movie, it plays all video and audio types, Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD MA, Dolby TRUE-HD MA, HEVC x265, x264, and adds fan created posters and wallpaper backgrounds for each series and episode to make your video library informative, pleasant to look at, and easy to navigate and locate. You just need to make an account at the TVDb and Trakt TV, to keep track of viewed movies,
TV series episodes, what fans rated them and what you rated them, and keep track of your viewing statistics as you watch your video library.
https://kodi.tv/
Forget about using KODI as a streaming app, it is best used as a local media library, and if you want to stream your video library from a home computer like a media server to your mobile devices, Plex has free and premium versions to do just that and share your personal video and music collection with family and friends on Windows, Windows Phone, Android, and iOS. https://www.plex.tv/

Personal preference: VLC or bust!

Insatiable s01e05 doesn't have a 480p x264 version or a x265 version. What's up? It is the only episode posted without the smaller file versions.

Of the three you listed, I haven't tried kmplayer, and I prefer potplayer over vlc. Potplayer is very customizable - startup size, time jumps, navigation bar, etc. It also uses fewer CPU cycles and less RAM.

@meridian, arrow, Divine-Cannibal:

I've tried MPC BE and Media Player Classic Home Cinema and still prefer VLC. VLC has a library of plug-ins that do most of what I want and I find it intuitive.
However, there is one major feature lacking from everything I've tried: playing BluRay Discs (not rips, actual BDs). I've used WinDVD Pro but its installation is balky and often fails leaving a mess that prevents it from reinstalling. Windows upgrades seem to screw up its authentication making it worthless. I've tried Macgo and Cyberlink PowerDVD but get tired of paying for upgrades.

Any suggestions for a (preferably free) BD player?

Also, I'd like to move away from Win7 but I need WMC (Windows Media Center) which does one thing very well- play and record TV streams from my FTA TV card (currently Homerun). I've tried Kodi and others but they seem balky and difficult. Any suggestions for a TV player/Recorder?

I was worried there for a minute that this thread would get derailed by some actual meaningful discussion. Glad to see that risk has been averted and we're back on track.

Here is a suggestion - when uploading a new movie sequel, maybe it is also good to re-upload the previous titles as well, if available. Some of us probably haven't seen all of them, but like to.

A personal bias - "720p RMTeam" provide the best balance for quality and size :-)
